Bio
Dr. Ionita received his degree in chemical engineering as well as his medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago. He completed a transitional year at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio, before starting his diagnostic radiology residency at George Washington University (GWU) Hospital in Washington, D.C. During his residency, Dr. Ionita received the first ever GWU Department of Radiology Alumni Scholarship for outstanding leadership and teamwork qualities. He earned his musculoskeletal radiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Dr. Ionita has published research in several areas, including: the diversity of complex metabolic networks; enzyme function and metabolite structure; and the prevalence of vocal cord paralysis in patients with incidentally discovered enlarged lymph nodes.

Dr. Ionita is a member of the American College of Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society and Radiological Society of North America. He is currently board eligible for American Board of Radiology licensure.
