About Your Procedure

XRCMI is a multi-modality medical imaging center; in other words, we perform a number of different kinds of imaging procedures on a variety of imaging equipment. For example, the preparation and procedure for a CT scan or an ultrasound study may be quite different than that for a routine chest x-ray or a mammogram.

Because there are so many varied procedures and preparation instructions, some of which can be complex, we want you to be as knowledgeable as possible on what to expect. In this section we provide general information about each modality at XRCMI. Simply click on the tab displayed on the right side of the page that defines the test(s) that you will be having. For detailed preparation instructions, click here to access our section entitled, "Preparation Instructions". For patients who require detailed preparation instructions, an XRCMI staff member will telephone you in the days preceding your study to confirm those instructions. Of course, you can always contact us at (574) 243-0100 or click here to send us an e-message.

Regardless of the type of procedure you'll be having, please try to arrive 20 minutes early so that we can process your necessary paperwork and keep you on schedule. Also, please be sure to notify our staff if you are pregnant or if you believe there is a possibility that you could be pregnant.

We hope that you'll find this and the following portions of this section informative. Please call us or e-mail us with any questions that you might have that we haven't addressed.
