XRC Medical Imaging

XRC Medical Imaging, LLC (XRCMI), is a division of X-Ray Consultants, Inc., a private radiology practice consisting of 16 radiologists. X-Ray Consultants has practiced in the Michiana area for over 22 years, providing professional radiology services to regional hospitals (see "Where We Practice" tab). In 1979 our first outpatient facility was opened in Pavilion I of Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center - South Bend, where it still resides.

Since the mid-1990's however, it became X-Ray Consultants' goal to establish a freestanding, multi-modality imaging center outside of the confines of an acute care hospital campus. We took years in planning and researching similar facilities in other communities, borrowing what works best and learning from the mistakes of others. We also sought the input from physicians who refer patients for imaging studies, asking them what they wanted for outpatient imaging and where such a facility should be located.

In July of 2001, ground was broken for XRCMI at the Foundation Center, located at the intersection of State Road 23 and Douglas Road in South Bend, just west of the Allied Physicians of Michiana Ambulatory Surgery Center. Construction was completed in the Spring of 2002.

Located in a growth sector of our community, this 10,000 square-foot, one-story facility is easily accessed and has ample nearby parking with a covered patient drop-off area. The Center was designed with a focus on privacy, ease-of-movement and comfort within an attractive environment. Services initially offered are general radiography and fluoroscopy, mammography, CT scanning, ultrasound and bone densitometry. More modalities may added in the future.

A Picture Archival Communications System (PACS) is in place to digitally store your images so that your physician will be able to view your images and reports at anytime from any personal computer through a secure web site. Above all else though, it is customer service which is XRCMI's hallmark. We constantly emphasize the importance of warm, friendly patient-caregiver interactions as an integral compliment to the professional / clinical side of what we do and we track our success in this area as part of our Continuous Quality Improvement Program.

Regardless of which XRCMI location you receive your services at, we want you to be completely satisfied in every respect. If you have any questions or would like to provide us with any feedback, please call us at (574) 243-0100 or send us an e-message by clickingContact Us.
